Library

The school provides a computerized library in a majestic hall, with more than many quality books pertaining to different subjects written by philosophers, authors, poets & thinkers. Publications on science, medical, engineering and books of high academic standard are also available. Separate section is provided for reference books. The School library is open to all bonafide students of the school from 8.00am to 4.00pm. All classes are provided with at least one library period once week. Student has to observe the following rules – The school has well equipped laboratories for Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Computer Science. Keeping in view the latest curriculum, labs for Mathematics,& fine Arts, and have also been developed.

1:- Books are issued for one week only. If a child fails to return the book on time without a valid reason, it amounts to imposition of fine or borrowing facility may be withdrawn.

2:- The readers shall not sublend the books issued by the library.

3:- Reference books, magazines and periodicals publications are to be read in library only.

Transport Facility

Presently, School’s own and authorized contract buses are plying on scheduled routes. Admission to the school does not necessarily mean allocation of a seat in the bus. In case of change in residence, bus facility cannot be guaranteed. Bus users are advised to reach the respective bus stop ten minutes before the scheduled time. No discontinuation of bus facility will be allowed during the academic session. Eleven month charges are payable. Pupils who do not behave in a disciplined and courteous manner in the bus, will be debarred from using it and will be required to make their own arrangements. The bus services provided by the school is a facility. To the best of our ability, school tries to provide a good service and adhere to the timings. However, the school is in no way responsible for the bus coming late or early and any injury or accidents caused to the child or any other unforeseen mishap.

Community

Students, parents, faculty, and staff coming to CBS Public school find a warm and welcoming community, which for many becomes their other “family” in Harare. If you query staff, parents, or students about what makes our school special, the likely answer would be the sense of family, community, and belonging. As one student put it so well, “It’s a loving environment.” CBS Public school provides a focal point for cultural, athletic, and social activities. Our school not only facilitates learning, it continually fosters community-building events throughout the year. Parents are involved providing wonderful support and also making families feel welcome not only to school, but to the larger community.

Language

The school provides a digital language lab to involve students to actively participate in language learning exercise and get more practice than otherwise possible in a traditional classroom environment.

Here, the teacher has a computer with appropriate software for conducting language exercises visually with help of projector with big screen. Students and teachers wear the headsets that block outside sounds and disturbances. A media player/recorder is used for listening to audio and recording speech.

CBS Public school language lab helps teachers to maintain good linguistic competence through accuracy in grammar, pronunciation and vocabulary. Its constant use enriches discourse competence to prepare the student to be able to produce context wise written text and speech.

Medical

The school provides facilities of the health clinic under the charge of a well qualified and experienced medical officer. Every student has to undergo a medical check-up or take advice twice a year. A health card is maintained for each child and intimation is sent to the parents for follow up.

Sports and Games have been an integral part of school life as mind and body are inseparable. Sports and Games not only enliven and refresh the body, they also activate and boost the performance of the mind and at the same time play a great role in disciplining the whole person. Physical education is that part of general education which aims at physical mental social and emotional development of personality , it is our aim to develop the qualities of healthy competition sportsmanship, character building and physical fitness. Inter school competition are conducted for boys and girls where we spot out talented children who could be taken in to hands for intensive coaching to prepare them for inter school state level and national level competition. The school provides facilities for all games. To encourage healthy competition, character building and physical stamina, Inter-Class competitions are held in all available games for senior and junior boys and girls each year. Games form an integral and vital part of the school curriculum. The popular games played in the school are hockey, football, cricket, badminton, basket-ball, volleyball and table tennis. It is our aim to develop the qualities of healthy competition sportsmanship, character building and physical fitness.
